It’s Official.
My case of wanderlust is incurable. I continue to wake up with that itch to get out and go somewhere—anywhere. The trails of San Gorgonio Mountains. The waters of Lake Arrowhead. The deserts of Palm Springs. And everywhere in between. I get the chills when someone says those magic words: Road Trip. Thankfully, I have six amazing allies with the same affliction. We’re all adventure enablers. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My thing is freedom.
To do exactly what I want, when I want it. Sometimes I spend the whole day at home. You might call that lazy—but my tapas cooking class, group yoga session, pickleball tourney and daily happy hour with the gang says otherwise. Other times, I’ll hit the road for a weekend of kayaking, or mountain biking in Joshua Tree (try calling me lazy now, I dare you.) I just flip a coin, follow my inner compass and get going. It feels so good to be free.
I have a confession.
I wasn’t sure this time would come. Sure, I acted like it was a foregone conclusion, but I always had doubt. I had hoped my days would be filled with the things I love. And fun moments, big and small. A “painting all morning, art walk in the afternoon, concert with my closest friends at night” kind of life. So isn’t it a perfect surprise, that I’ve gotten absolutely everything I hoped for. And then some. Dare I say, dreams come true? I think I do.
